Something that was long ago set to be released within the Core Rules is here. HeroPlay.
What is it? It is small games focused on point values from 100-300pts. It doesn't mean that you can't play larger games, but this is the sweet spot where individual models get their chance to shine.
In HeroPlay you select your army based on models, not squads, play on a smaller board size with more terrain, and Heroes gain a special bonuses. The game is meant to be played quick with only a few models needed to get a game in, although I am certain many of you will have figured out how to flood the table with smaller point valued models.
HeroPlay adds a couple rules to this variant style of gameplay with a slightly different board set up to accommodate the smaller sized game. This makes HeroPlay a small variant of a normal game that can get quite exciting when the action unfolds.
When is it coming? It is scheduled to be released as part of the Core Rules on July 25th. However, I will be sending it out early. So keep an eye out!
