Hey Karnil here, I have a few question I have to ask.
Fey Hybrid Trait and a spell from a different Sphere:
Can a unit take Sphere trait and select a different spell from another Sphere?
Example
Fey-Born 8pts: Species Variant, Fey Hybrid 1
Massive Willpower 8pts: Increase Willpower 2
Flurry of Blades 8pts: Increase Attacks 1
Rare trait:
Priestly Vessel 5pts: Priest 1 (Powers), Sacred Faith 1 (Powers)
Dark Lord 15pts: Dark Lord, Class Trait Only (Level 3+), Priests of Darkness Only
The priest takes a spell from Madness the DERANGED LUNATIC 14pts
But the priest have a Trait form Pain.
“Species Trait Only”:
what does it mean? there are no mention of it in the books?
Musket and bayonet:
When a Musket is armed with a Bayonet, is it now also a Melee weapon? and if yes what strength will it use? the user or its weapon stat.
And if no, how does it work?
Stat increases and Age Limit:
When increasing stats on a unit it is at max 4, but is it counted before faction or when creating the class?
Outnumbering:
When Outnumbering an enemy, is it a number of models? Does Size count to it? and is it only models in contact or does the whole unit count?
Example:
a Large dragon with claws is in contact with 5 Pikemen, a Priest and 3 Swordsmen, the Pikemen have additionally 10 more men who is within threat range with their pikes, but the dragon can’t reach them, the swordsmen have additional 2 men left who can’t reach the dragon. How should the players count it?
Shields for dragons with claws:
Well currently I have found nothing against it? It just sounds so weird in my head xD
Common and Primitiv gear:
Does a faction need explicit skills for primitive and common weapons since it says elsewhere that all have primitive and common yet only one says so under their own rules.
Example:
Annura tree:
Armory Knowledge 0pts: Armory - Primitive and Common
It doesn’t seem like the Annura loses access to the P&C gear?
Maximum Class Traits and Faction traits:
it is only Class traits there count towards the Maximum correct?
flying units and ranged how to reach it:
It says a Flying model counts as being 9” above ground level, so it would be correct to subtract 9 from all ranged attacks against the flying model? And can a flying model who is placed on top of a house (4” high) be 13” above ground level? Or am I overthinking it :3
Recon:
May a unit move outside its deployment zone? or into another zone? and would it mean the zone is added to the first turn roll.
Also why give Initiative to the enemy when reporting back? I can see any reason for that?
How long is a combat round:
Is it a Game Round or is it for each time a Unit can attack or is being attacked?
Just reread it on page 19, “Following activations and Game Rounds of the Melee
Combat resolve all attacks simultaneously.”
So it is when a unit Activated in close combat multiple times, just asking to be sure.
Threat range and PROVOKED ATTACKS:
So a medium unit with Pikes have a threat ranged of 3”, a provoked attack doesn’t count towards a Combat Round?
Properties:
When using Advanced Upgrades on a weapon or armour does it increase the Properties on that side item.
Example:
Taking a Pike and upgrading it to be Long, so it has +3” threat range, would make it Properties 3?
How to get pikes for your level 1 For Human Faction:
Is it correct to buy class Trait Craftsmanship for that unit since a Pike is Properties 2?
And that should be all for now 😅
Loving the game so far, and it feels so liberating to be able to make your own faction!
Thanks Natfka
it really gave us a huge insight and better understanding, much appreciated 😁
Will post my army soon and look forward to the next fight ^^
With Kind Regards

Question #11 How long is a combat round:
Combat Round is just an activation. Each side makes its attacks and then is done and cannot be activated again.
Example: You activate a squad of Berserkers and they charge your opponents bowmen. Assuming they have not yet activated this will activate them using up 1 Command Value for both you and your opponent.
Move your Berserkers in and both sides complete their action. You can only use your action once (unless a rule from an ability says otherwise) and that is it. The combat is done for this Game Round.
If someone else charges in.... both the Berserkers and the Bowmen are now exhausted and have used their action this game round and cannot attack back and only able to take Defensive Enhancements for the Combat Situation.
Question #12 Threat range and PROVOKED ATTACKS:
Provoked attacks use your action, but grant you a bonus to your combat situation and is resolved immediately, like if someone tries to leave melee combat, or push through you to reach another squad.
So if an enemy squad is trying to get past your pikemen to reach a commander or other more squishy type of squad, and need to move through your Threat Range to do so, you may choose to activate and try and stop them. This would activate your Pikemen who would now get provoked attacks and a +2 to their Combat Situation. (it also uses up your Command Value.... which may be a trick if someone is trying to bring in some heavy cavalry or run you out of Command Value.)
Question #13 Properties: When using Advanced Upgrades on a weapon or armour does it increase the Properties on that side item.
Example:
Taking a Pike and upgrading it to be Long, so it has +3” threat range, would make it Properties 3?
yes and those are nasty things my playtesters did to each other during playtesting to counter each other in-house. Super long Pikemen made a big splash one weekend of testing in response to fast moving large raptors that were doing the killing the weekend before.
Question #14 How to get pikes for your level 1 For Human Faction:
Is it correct to buy class Trait Craftsmanship for that unit since a Pike is Properties 2?
That would do it. Take it as a Species/Faction Trait would be very beneficial.
Hit me again if you have more questions. For now calling it a night.

Question #5 Outnumbering
Outnumber does not take into account the size of models and counts the entire squad that is active.
As long as they Pikemen, Priest, and Swordsmen are all activated by the melee combat at the same time they all count. So greatly outnumbered there in your example.
If the Pikemen come in at a later activation you would only be counting them on their own during their activation.
Question #6 Shields for dragons with claws:
There are players that will be making their Dragon Warriors more humanoid looking (Draconic Lizard Men ). You have the options to go either way.
Like these
Question #7 Annura Primitive and Common Weapons.
Annura and apparently Caudata have that trait which does nothing, as neither Devolutionary Species loses their primitive and common weapons. (In early playtesting this was a thing, and apparently those two traits carried over). So ignore them.
Question #8 Maximum Class Traits and Faction traits
Yes, only applies to Class Traits.
Question #9 flying units and ranged how to reach it:
For Ranged Combat measure to the model horizontally. No need to add additional inches, which is used for movement up and down.
Flying models for game purposes are 9" above the board. A piece of terrain that is 4" up does not change that height. This is mostly used with Giants trying to swat flying models out of the sky.
Question #10 Recon:
With Recon and Infiltration you can move outside your deployment zone. (you still deployed into your deployment zone so it does not alter your "who goes first" total.
Recon Adds to your opponents "deployment zone total". Lowest goes first.
(Continuing on the next answer)
Sorry for the delay in getting back here. Needed to some time.
Question #1 Fey Hybrid and Powers.
Answering from your example:
So Fey Hybrid 1 you selected the Pain Sphere of Influence and took a trait.
Sacred Faith 1 you selected Madness as your sphere to get powers and chose Deranged Lunatic.
You handled each ability Fey Hybrid and Sacred Faith/Priest separately on their own. So your good.
Question #2 “Species Trait Only”:
This is the same as a Faction trait meaning you can only take it as a Species/Faction trait, not as a "class trait."
Question #3 Bayonet
that will need to be brought into the errata.
But yes, it becomes a Common Melee Weapon
Question #4 Increasing Stats/ Enhancements
From your Base Domain stats you can only get Increases to a single stat equal to the maximum age bonus which is 4. These only stack from within the same Branch. Think of them as permanent characteristic for your class/faction.
Enhancements. You may get up to 4 enhancements to a characteristic. Think of these as in-game and situational bonuses that are applied on top of your characteristics. These also are limited by the maximum age bonus, but are calculated on their own.
So if your Strength is 5 for your melee class due to increases from both faction and class traits and you someone cast a power on you that enhances your strength by 4! While the power is active you have a strength of 9.
(continuing on follow up answer). So I dont loose the answers and need to start over.
