Rider death during mounted charge?

War/Common mounts are stated to be removed from play when they lose their rider. If, during a mounted charge, such a mount loses its rider, does it get removed immediately as the rider dies, or will it get to make its trample attack, if any?

Example situation:

Rider with warmount charge into line of pikemen.

At TR3, pikes hit and kill the rider (who otherwise would've struck at TR1 with its common weapon).

Does the mount (which goes at TR0, since it's technically unarmed) get to attack since the rider has died before it was able to make its attack?
