So I am currently trying to make a faction of giant elemental crab monsters:
I have a couple of questions:
What does opposed sphere do for fey? I couldnt see anything that explained it.
Could I take Air powers, despite my Earth sphere? Thunderclap seems thematic for a Pistol shrimp type class
My natural armor 2 would only give 1 bonus for my level 1 classes?
How do you access tier 2 Monster of Legend Traits?
Any help would be appreciated.
1. Opposed spheres do come into play mostly for the Fey when dealing with Rebel Archlords and a couple other minor things here in the 1st Age and others in future ages.
2. So yes, you can take additional abilities and traits from opposed spheres. The Twilight Spheres mostly do not have to deal with it that much.
3. That would be correct on the Natural Armor 2. Unless of course you are able to increase the maximum properties for the class. (not as easy for Fey as it is for Insekts to do that).
4. How to access 2nd Tier abilities in the Monsters of Myth and Legend.
A single 1st Tier Trait unlocks a 2nd Tier.
Abilities that grant access to Monsters of Myth and Legend
Monster X: Best way to take Monster X which replaces your faction traits with X traits that you can select between your own domain and that of Monsters of Myth and Legend. If you have Monster X as a class ability or even a faction ability (for Biests), then you can also take class traits from the monster section to reach further into 2nd Tier branches.
Monster Hybrids have a hard time doing this but can.
Forbidden Lore will also grant direct access getting rid of prerequisites.
Overall Monsters of Myth and Legend has some seriously strong traits. However, getting access is a little tough and carries with it an expensive point costs for each trait. Biests for example trying to make a faction out of Monsters and Biests will quickly discover just how expensive their model cost is- but it's fun.
