So I'm finally branching out into making other factions for all the fantasy armies I currently have. Right now I'm doing Or...I mean biests. I wanted to make drake monster mounts. I think I did this right so I just wanted someone to double check my info. Drake Mount, Class 2 Traits: Monstrous Beast 20pts: Monster 4 (replacing all my previous biest traits) -Heavy War monster 12 pts: Mount, Trample 1 -Giant Monster 12pts: +1 Toughness, +1 Strength, -1 Discipline, +2 Size (to fit my large class models) -Heavy Hide 3pts: 1 Natural Armor -Reptilia Hybrid 8pts: Reptilia Hybrid 2 --Sharp Claws 6pts: Claws 1 --Lesser Drake 2pts: Drake 1 ---Wings 4pts: Flight Total points: 134 (67base X 2 for Class) I think I can do that since I get all the bonus traits from each subsequent trait (Monster 4 into Hybrid 2, into drake 1). Now, which characteristics do I use? My base faction's minus all the faction trait bonuses, the Monster ones since I chose Monster 1 as a Class trait, or the no Biest kingdom? I see it only says from mentioning Monstrous Beast as a faction do you use those (monster) characteristics so I wanted to be sure. I'm positive I don't use the drake's but hey, I've made a fool of myself before here on the forums being so sure 😉 Also, just for laughs, is there a way to turn this thing into a greater drake at class 2 from a lesser drake? I don't think I can as a Biest faction since I need two 1st tier draconic traits just to get the the greater drake. Though thinking about it that would only be worth it if the final class used the Greater Drake characteristics. Now for the + question: -Do traits in your faction base count towards unlocking tier 2 traits for classes? Taking "Field Scavenger" as Biest Faction trait unlock "Highly Adaptable" so I could take it as my sole class trait on a level 2 (for example)?

do traits in you faction count towards taking 2nd tier traits for classes: yes
you faction traits are traits all your classes have
Excellent, thank you very much for the info!
you above math was off, you only X the faction traits the class trait is add after at normal cost. so your drake would cost 114pts.
for 2 more points you could do this
(48x2=96+20=(116pts)
Monstrous Beast 20pts (Monsters of Myth and Legend): Monster 4
Monster stats +claw
Giant Monster 12pts: Increase Toughness 1, Increase Strength 1, Decrease Discipline 1, Increase Size 2
Heavy War Monster 12pts: Mount, Trample 1
Powerful Claws 12pts (Natural Weapons): Muscle 2 ( bit more pricy but gives 2 strength) so with your claws you'd have 6strength
Monstrous Flight 12pts: Flight
then just fluff it as a Drake or whatever model you want to use for it.
for your Drakes, beists dont build classes from class like humans do so there wouldnt be a way to build a lvl 2 from a lvl1 like you can in humans.
put monster 4 in your faction you would get access to both monster and beist traits for your whole faction. I think because the stats of the drake trait are connected to the trait itself then it would change the Stats from the monster (monster is better). i could be wrong.
