couple questions about level 4 classes:
Why are level 4 classes so rare?
How do you make a level 4 class if you are able? For example, the Saurien trait 'Saurien Heirarchy 2pts: Bonus Classes 2 - 1 Level 3 and 1 level 4' allows for creation of a level 4 class, but I can't find anything that says what stats it would have or how to make it. Page 43 of the core rule book talks about leveling up a class but it seems to assume that you know what characteristic stats the new level has. So I'm not really sure what to do
For the most part Level 4 classes are reserved for heroes that have been "leveled up" from a Level 3 Class. Heroes can reach Level 5 in the 1st Age.
As for Saurien Heirarchy I will I will add this to the FAQ to create a Level 4 class.
I would assume level 4s are strictly the same as level 3 with the exception of the bonuses achieved by level 4. The exception to this is Fae Realms Nether Lord...it specifically mentions more traits. Nether Lord X: From beyond the Spheres of Influences these Lords dwell within the Darkness between spheres. Their power is almost equivalent to a Paragon, and these creatures of pure darkness are always watching, always controlling. Their Origins are lost and their access to other spheres is disturbing at the very least, damning and a sign of the end of all things when they stir.
Taking this trait with an Archlord (level3) class alters the class in several ways adding to the Archlord Class.
• Nether Lords: Class Level 4
• Increase Characteristic 2 – Your choice
• Masters of the Void 2: A Nether Lord class may select two bonus traits that come from any single Branch of Life. These traits cost double the point cost and may not grant additional bonus traits.
reptillia and fae are the only ones who can make level 4. Nether lords cost 65 pts the reptile trait 2pts. 2 pts is a pretty good deal for bonus class that gets bonuses for objectives etc.
