It really comes down to does the model have more than one Sphere of Influence. If it does, then it cannot get the bonus.
If the model has a trait from some other domain like a Lineage or evolutionary branch- these are not Spheres of Influence. So you can get or keep these bonuses that way as well.
Branches of Life- There are different types found within the Domains.
Spheres of Influence, Lineages, Evolutionary Branches, Classifications
@Ravenous Miniature's Over all in the game, when you open up a Branch you are taking the traits following the rules of that domain-while still being a part of your own starting domain.
So if there is something that says only Fey, or limited to a Domain's class, then you can't reach it. For example turning an Alpha Trait into an Omega Trait can only be done by Paragons.
An example would be a faction we tested with a lot in the early days that was Humanoid but had leaders (level 3 classes) each with forbidden Lore opening up one of the elements. Kind of a tribal leader of their element type of thing. Then classes focused on one element or another and do receive their only being in only a single sphere bonus. If they took traits from a second sphere they would lose that bonus even though they had access.
I might post that faction up, although I would have to more than likely remake them.
Ok thanks Netfka that clerified a lot for me.
I would love to see factions that show ultilize the more "complex" aspect of the game.
I was just there, so here is the answer.
