Declined Species question

Question

If you for instance made your Humanoid Base Species with a Trait from the Knowledge & Science Traits category (let's say for instance "Melee Combat Specialist" on page 24) and then for a Class you choose "Goblyn" on page 19 as Class Trait. You then have to deal with the "Declined Species 1" ability. So I remove Melee Combat Specialist trait from the class. Does this also remove 5pts from the Class total points? Or do these 5 points stay because they came from the Base Species?

Pretty sure if you remove the trait you remove the Cost, its how other rules work that deal with similar effects.

in the ability trait it says you remove it so its completely removed point cost and all

I agree that the rules are a challenge, my local group is trying to make our first armies, but can not figure out the book. We have found several typos however.
