Making a fey force and it talks about lesser base species and greater base species, but I do not see where it says what is the difference? My guess is lesser is with only level 1 traits, and greater is with all traits, but as I said do not see where it says.
Also what is the difference between casting and channeling?
just going to add an example.
you make a fey madness sphere faction
faction/species traits
tier one trait
tier 2 trait
you make class one (lesser)
it gets the factions 1st tier traits
you make a class 3 (greater)
it gets the 1st tier and 2nd tier faction traits
Ah OK. We are very much talking about the same thing. You can see on the Creating a Sample Faction (page 36).
Lesser Fey are class levels 1-2
Greater Fey are class levels 3+
The real difference is that if you have (3) 1st tier Traits and (2) 2nd Tier traits for your faction the lesser Fey only have access to the 3 first tier traits. They do not pay the point cost for the 2nd Tier traits even if they are part of the Faction Traits.
Your Base Faction consists of all traits. The reason you see them totaled for each there is to show that this is the base point costs for your Lesser and Greater Fey
It was not the classes that I had a question about (or at least I did not think I did), but the base species that you make the classes from. So just to make sure that I am reading that right, base species does not really make a difference, it is only the end class? P48 talks about the classes, but does not cover the lesser or greater base species. My Fey force that I am working on the base unit has no 2nd tier traits or powers, so does that mean I do not have a greater base species? If I do not have a greater base species does that mean I can only make level 1 and 2 classes?
Lesser and Greater Classes for the Fey are mentioned on page 48 for reference.
Channeling is the a method used to affect, bolster, or help your casting. See page 31 for Humanoid Arcane Casters and page 33 for Faith Casters. Channeling is added to your die roll and its done in many different ways.
